Unsolved Homicides 1980-1989

	Joe Sanders & Jeffrey Vandis (1989)
	On the night of June 1, 1989 Officers responded to the 600-block of North St. reference shots being fired. There they found 3 victims who had been shot. Two of the three, Joe Sanders and Jeffrey Vandis died as a result of their injuries.

	Tyrone Ray (1988)
	Early on the morning of November 8, 1988, Officers responded to a report of several shots being heard in the area of 800 N Park. Upon their arrival they found the body of 28-year-old Tyrone Ray of Illinois lying in the street, dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

	Girard Corley (1987)
	Corley, a 33 year old Kalamazoo man, was killed on the    morning of January 22, 1987. He was shot in the street in the 400 block of W. North just before 2am.

	Bobby Glen Stevens – Missing Person (1986)
	Bobby Stevens was last seen in Kalamazoo on May 9, 1986 leaving a downtown restaurant. He left behind all his belongings and did not notify anyone. Foul play is suspected. DOB: October 25, 1953 Height/Weight: 5' 9" / 150 lbs Hair/Eye Color: Blonde / Blue Complexion: Light-medium Scars: Large scar under neck from ear to ear at least 1/4" wide

	Jessie Kelly & Terrance Morris (1985)
	On April 4, 1985, Police were called after the reportee said he was unable to contact the resident of 522 Gilbert and suspected foul play. Officers forced entry and discovered the bodies of 26 year old Terrance Morris and 23-year-old Jessie Lee Kelly. Both had been shot.

	Josie Finch (1983)
	Josie Finch was a 31-year-old female who was found dead in her apartment at 1214 Lantern Lane #3. She had been shot during the morning of February 2, 1983.

	Charles Parks (1983)
	62-year-old Charles Parks was shot on January 15, 1983. He was in a car parked in front of room 132 at the Valley Inn Motel. Parks later died at the hospital as a result of his injuries on January 18, 1983.

	James Grabbert (1982)
	On December 10, 1982, an Officer was dispatched to 807 Elmwood on a welfare check. After checking the home, the body of a white male was found in the basement. It was identified as that of 42-year old James Grabbert.

	Joyce Wilson (1981)
	Joyce Wilson, a 30-year-old female from Kalamazoo, was last seen on August 12, 1981. Her body found four days later (Aug 16) in Portage Creek between Stockbridge Ave and Reed St.

Henry Rubin Sheldon (1980)

Henry Rubin Sheldon was last seen in Kalamazoo on the October 21, 1980. He had been staying at the Gospel Mission downtown. His body was eventually found in a car on I-80 in Illinois on the 31st. Suspect Information The investigation focuses on this man. At the time he was described as an older white-male, about 5'6", 135 Lbs, with gray hair. Using a forged I.D, he identified himself as William Jack Thompson. He also used aliases of Jack Williams and Willie Roberts and was known to frequent the New Orleans area. 	Christopher Wills (1980)
	23-year-old Christopher Wills was killed around 1:00am on July 14, 1980. He was shot multiple times in the 1800 block of State St.

	Lanita Thompson (1980)
	Lanita Thompson was a 22 year-old female from Grand Rapids. On July 11, 1980, a maid discovered her body in her room at the Valley Inn Motel. She died of a stab wound to the neck.
