They are our police, firefighters, EMT’s and K-9’s who serve and protect our communities. They need superior state-of-the-art emergency training.
This is why the City of Kalamazoo is leading a coalition of area governmental agencies, corporations, educational and medical institutions in the development of a Kalamazoo Regional Police and Fire Training Campus (K.R.T.C).
Located at 911 Training Center Boulevard and situated on 22 acres, the facility will include the following components:
First Phase:
Live Fire Training Tower
Ice/Water Rescue Pond
Tanker Fire Training
Care Fire Training
Modular Classroom
Indoor Training Building
Police, Fire and K-9 Agility Course
Second Phase:
Driving Track (used for police, fire, medical and school/Metro bus training)
Third Phase:
Indoor Fire Arms Range
This endeavor requires time, effort, dedication and monies to make this facility a viable reality.

Since September 11, the need for advanced emergency preparedness training and advance law enforcement training has greatly increased. It is imperative that there is a training camput in Southwest Michigan that can provide for this type of advanced training. Currently there is no such facility. The time is now to fill this gap.
